The Wellington Boot carnival held over two days in early autumn plays out in the state’s central western district on a picturesque landscape adjacent to the Bell River, with a view in the west to Mt Arthur which overlooks the town. The Wellington Boot Carnival is accompanied by six other days of racing throughout the year, with the Boxing Day non-TAB a particular favourite for locals. Prizemoney has steadily increased to $750,000 with the Wellington Boot staked at $200,000 and the Wellington Cup carrying a $100,000 purse. Iconic, and unique, the carnival attracts horses from near and far, with local trainers vying with their city counterparts for the spoils. Sponsors of the race club are regarded as partners, and the relationship is therefore beneficial to all parties. We care. Because in the bush we know it’s the long-term view that matters.
